Christmas 2008

Valerie is days away from her 1st birthday. Today she is walking across the room, between furniture, picking herself up from a sitting to standing position and walking to various family members. It is interesting to watch her concentrate on every step when she is determined to reach a specific location.
Of course, when she really wants to get somewhere fast, she drops to her knees and with her head down crawls as fast as she can!
Valerie still has the four teeth and doesn't sleep through the night. Her hair is growing and we can add a bow now and then.

Michelle is hosting a breakfast birthday party on Sunday morning.

Valerie Grace is 11 months old

Valerie is weeks away from her 1st birthday.
She has cut her two upper teeth and now has four teeth.
We see Valerie cruising furniture and occasionally stands alone.
Every once in a while she takes a step.

Christmas should be interesting with a mobile and curious tot!
Now, where to put the tree?

Valerie's First Halloween

Valerie celebrated her first Halloween as a little Bumble Bee. Her daycare had a holiday party which she seemed to enjoy. Her mother opted not to take her around the neighborhood as Valerie was tired and ready for bed. I'll bet next year she will want to take that walk.

We still have only the two teeth but, it appears that the uppers may make an appearance soon. She interacts well with Mac, our boxer and he is very patient with her. Valerie is beginning to "cruise" and we anticipate she will be walking by her birthday in December.

The Great Pumpkin Adventure

Valerie went with her mother to the Cal Poly pumpkin patch. From all accounts, she did well at the outdoor event. She was not a fan of the straw and would probably have enjoyed just crawling around the plants.
We are getting ready for her first Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then her 1st birthday. My how time flies.

Our first bout with illness

Valerie has picked up her first "cold" from daycare and has managed to pass it to nearly everyone in the house. She had a couple of incidents of throwing up but, seemed happy throughout her little ordeal. The adults are of course, miserable. Everyone seems to be on the road to recovery now.

We still have only the two teeth which become more prominent every time she smiles.

Grandpa is going to be in big trouble!

Tonight, Grandpa introduced Valerie to the joys of Milky Way candy bars.
I can hear the happy sounds of a little girl who wants more. She is hovering over grandpa waiting for the right moment to grab the bar with both hands.
And, she has it. It's lucky he finished his wine!
